FOREWORD

The Newfoundland Specialized Stamp Catalogue (NSSC) is designed to meet most of the needs of the wide range of collectors who desire and want a fresh approach to philatelically related Newfoundland collectibles: stamps, covers, first flight covers, postal stationary and postal rates, coins, revenue and tobacco tax stamps, town post offices and cancellation styles, picture postcards (viewcards), and advertising or business corner cards.

The Newfoundland Specialized Stamp Catalogue (NSSC) synthesizes the findings and research of generations of collector - specialists and incorporates the results into the most comprehensive listing of known philatelic material related to Newfoundland. Like the voyages of John Cabot (1497) and Sir Humphrey Gilbert (1583) this catalogue will lead you to new discoveries and hopefully leave you with a passion to find others.

The Newfoundland Specialized Stamp Catalogue (NSSC), in color, has incorporated comprehensive new additions. This is in response to fellow collectors who wanted to see the same approach applied to early Canada. You will now find a specialized approach to the stamp issues including postal rates of Canada prior to 1951. As well, the stamp issues with the postal rates of the North America Colonies: New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and British Columbia are contained in this edition.
